I Felt the sacred Horizontal feminine waters. Within our own sacred bodies and all over this planet.
I have written before about water but today I MUST speak up and share my battle cry to scream loud and long to protect our waters and Remember our connection with the water, who we are, where we came from, what we are made from, that which gives us life and sustains us.
It is not just in far off places such as Dakota that our environment is under constant threat. Not just there that Water is Sacred/ Water is Life. All over the world, greed and power continue to seek to rape and pillage our precious natural resources in many ways, putting the environment and lives in danger.
I have been in prayer for the situation at Standing Rock amongst a great many other places and I have Also had an eye on what is happening in our own beautiful lands of Scotland. You might think we are OK; we are Safe, our land and waters are on the whole protected and clean. BUT there is a Threat that lurks from the greed of Big companies and unconventional gas extraction, otherwise commonly known as Fracking.
There are a whole number of reasons I’m opposed to Any fracking, Anywhere and at the core, is my deep respect of the Earth and my desire to protect it and our waters for ourselves and also for future generations. There are not just the climate change reasons and the pollution implications but also the health risks as well as no foreseeable economic benefits.
Co-ordinated public pressure previously worked extremely well to enable a temporary ban to be put in place. Now there is a public consultation open, providing an opportunity to respond and Permanently Ban unconventional gas extraction in Scotland.
The consultation will close on 31 May 2017. Details can be found here: https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/energy-and-climate-change-directorate/fracking-unconventional-oil-and-gas/
What has been happening in Scotland:
“In summer 2014, multinational chemicals company INEOS acquired its first stakes in onshore oil and gas licenses in the central belt of Scotland, and announced its ambition to become the biggest fracking company in the UK. INEOS now owns or has a majority stake in all onshore oil and gas licenses in the central belt of Scotland, covering an area of over 700km.
In January 2015, following massive public opposition to plans for shale gas and coalbed methane extraction, the Scottish Government put a moratorium on fracking. A moratorium is probably best understood as a temporary ban or halt.”

What can we do?
RESPOND to the Consultation!
Yes, I know Many people might not like to actually Do anything and might just have a quiet moan over their cup of tea but actually, this is important and this is our chance to speak UP and do something positive to put an end to this. A decision on whether the industry will be banned for good is expected by the end of 2017.
To make it easier to respond, Friends of the Earth Scotland have a resource to help you: https://act.foe.scot/take-action-ban-fracking-now
Talk about this situation, ask questions, get informed, get engaged, spread the message with others to encourage as many as possible to respond to this consultation and explain why it is important.
To bring focus to the River Forth, there has been a Humpback Whale here for the past few weeks, fishing in our waters. I share an image of this incredible creature breaching and bringing awareness to these waters.
