As I ride the current of the flow, adventures find me and with a quick check of the energetic resonance, I make a choice whether to accept. It may appear to some that I say yes to Everything but actually, it is important to use discernment and to trust that glorious vibe inside that is my underlying truth.
So yesterday, by ‘chance’ (ha – no such thing!) I saw an event pop up for a poetry reading/ talk in town that night. I see Many invitations and opportunities but this one made me giggle as it felt like the black type of the words on my phone nearly seemed to move off the screen into the air to make sure they got my full attention. Oh yeah, I got the message and immediately I felt the vibration in my body that I was going to show up later to the event. I would love to have brought So very many people but I accept that people are on their own journey’s and that’s perfect so in the end it was just me but hey I love my own sweet company. I actually got chatting to a ‘stranger’ and what a beautiful soul she was – so lovely to meet and connect.
The event was with a man called Drew Dellinger. I’d never come across him before but there was Such resonance with everything, from the words in the advert to the poems he had on his website I could Feel the energy. Incredible resonance with his messaging about the power of dream, story, art and action – yeah, I recognise all that!!
wake the poets.
wake the dreamers.
cultivate the tendrils
in the vineyard
of your heart

So Very much that was shared about social justice, ecology, community and connection sang to me as my background is an applied scientist with a deep passion for ecology and the environment, I was an activist in this area particularly when I was younger. Then when I moved from my job in science I started working on social inclusion policy and then after another few postings, I worked for a long period on environmental policy so these threads have been big drivers in my psyche and very much continue to be. My choices in the recent Scottish Referendum on Independence were tightly woven around the ecology of Scotland and very much so social justice issues.
I felt my heart break utterly when he mentioned the latest report that the earth has Lost HALF of it’s biodiversity in the last 40 years= my lifespan!!!

WOW, That’s Something to consider!!! I Really don’t understand a sentient Universe that could dream up this situation. At the same time, I Remain an eternal optimist, I rest in a state of acceptance and allowing and trust and faith and hope at 1 level and Still I Also take action where I can. This isn’t necessarily protesting and marching all the time but I speak up for the voiceless where I can.
it's 3:23 in the morning
and I'm awake
because my great great grandchildren
won't let me sleep
my great great grandchildren
ask me in dreams
what did you do while the planet was plundered?
what did you do while the earth was unraveling?...
what did you do
once you
knew?"

I was completely captivated by the talk of a man called Thomas Berry. He was a Priest and a Geologian – Earth Scholar. He sounded So very ahead of his time with views on deep ecology and ecospirituality. I am interested in his explorations of cultures and particularly shamanism as they are my interests for me as well. I am called to find out more about this person and I Loved this little glimpse that I found online:
‘The universe story is the quintessence of reality. We perceive the story. We put it in our language, the birds put it in theirs, and the trees put it in theirs. We can read the story of the universe in the trees. Everything tells the story of the universe. The winds tell the story, literally, not just imaginatively. The story has its imprint everywhere, and that is why it is so important to know the story. If you do not know the story, in a sense you do not know yourself; you do not know anything.
I finally wanted to share a gem from “Ancestors and Angels” that even the space between my atoms Adored, even more so as my Mayan Nahual is beautiful Macaw and I bring colour to life:
Meet me in the garden.
Meet me where spirit walks softly
In the cool of the evening
Meet me in the garden.
Under the wings of the bird
Of many colours.
Meet me
In the garden
Of your longing.
Every breath
Is a pilgrimage.
Every
Breath
Is a pilgrimage
To you.
I pray
To be
A conduit.
An Angel told me:
The only way
To walk through fire –
Become fire.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out more on his website: http://drewdellinger.org/ and his Gorgeous book “Love letter to the milky way”
